Köhler wrote this series of studies for children, but the exercises are suitable for anyone starting out their studies of the piano. In the preface, Köhler states that this book is intended for students who know how to place their hands, and are able to correctly play up and down with five fingers of each hand (not necessarily simultaneously).
This volume would be useful for anyone who is starting out on piano, but will be particularly useful for teachers to use with their pupils. Correct use of these exercises will see any student make quick progress through the beginning of their studies.
