Charles Ives’ bombastic second piano sonata, commonly known as the Concord Sonata, is one of his most highly regarded works. Each of the four movements is named after a famous American writer with close ties to the city of Concord, Massachusetts. This piece encompasses many of Ives’ experimental techniques and is for advanced pianists.
